Hi Everybody!
Whenever my girl calls me with her new vodafone-branded Z600, I won't be
shown, that it's her. By now, I've looked up every single option plus the
instruction.
My workaround is to put a *31*# at the beginning of my phonenumbers, so her
number is transmitted when she calls me.
But ist this the only way? Is there no global setting?
Thanks in advance,
Malte

Yes. S/// sticks to GSM specs where CLIP/CLIR is defined as network,
not handset feature. Nokia (and Siemens and probably others) do not
abide and imply an outomatic override.
Is there no global setting?
Ask your carrier.

So I only got used to Nokia's disobedience (actually one might argue if it
is that or a feature)...

The vodafone-guys said, it should be transmitting and could hardly believe
it wouldn't.

They should check whether they have CLIP (number transmitted) or
CLIR (mo number shown) for your line.

Oh, now I get your point. It actually worked with a Nokia 6210 on that line.
Now, after switching to the Z600 it doesn't work anymore. So I guess it's
because of the phone.
