I dont want to spend much. can anybody recommend any superseded or cheap
    models i can pickup?

I got one over a year ago from stak.com but that _is_ here in the uk.
Cost about $80 aus. Works perfectly well but you have to charge it
before it is required i.e it doesn't hold its charge for too long.
Considering the mobile phone companies were selling them at $250ish I
thought it was a real bargain.

    I use a Jabra 250 -

    The FS258 here

    http://www.jabra.com/asia_pacific_home.htm

Looks like the equivalent version in the Asia Pacific market.

I am pretty happy with it apart from I do wish the ear piece did not
go so far in my ear. I find it does irritate a bit and would prefer
something that was more 'outside' my ear if you get my drift.

Works very well and is very reliable though.

It's really great not to have to remember to have to remove your
phone from your jacket pocket or briefcase and put it in a cradle -
just put your headset on. If your phone rings just press the button on
the headset and converse does not normally matter where in the car the
    phone actually is.

Also very handy in the UK where of course using a handheld handset is
    illeagal.
