I've just got a T610 and I'm trying to sync it with my PC using Belkin
USB Bluetooth.
I cannot get the T610 to properly pair with the PC. I usually get a
message saying 'Pairing failed' or 'Security Code not recognised'. Or,
on the very rare occasion they have paired, I get a message, after about
30 seconds, saying it's Timed out.
I've Googled but cannot find anything that solves my problems. It seems
there's a lot of T610 Bluetooth problems out there. But also lots of
successes. No success for me though, even after 3 days of trying.
Thanks.

Try pairing your T610 to another phone to see if that works. Can you install
the dongle on another PC? I used a Belkin with my T610 & once I'd managed to
set it up correctly, syncing Outlook was fine as was file transfer etc. I
would toggle the power on the T610 before trying anything else, then re-pair
on both. If it still refuses to play ball, take/send it back to whence it
came (having determined which part is faulty). Are you using XP with SP2,
this seems to add complications?

I have exactly the same setup...
Ensure your phone is on and bluetooth enabled
1 - delete all pairings to your phone on your PC - if any exist. if
not - ignore this
2 - Double click my Bluetooth Places
3 - Select Bluetooth Setup Wizard
4 - Select Option 2 (Find device) and click "Next"
5 - Allow the search to look for your phone. When it appears in the
window, slect it and click "Next"
6 - Enter a PIN code and click "Initiate Pairing"
7 - Your phone sould beep and display the name of your PC and "Add to
My Devices?"
8 - Select "YES" on your phoneand enter THE SAME PIN Code - you phone
will then say "Added to my devices"
9 - Back on your PC, select in the tick boxes which services you want
to be ables to use Bluetooth for
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE - IF YOU HAVE XP SERVICE BACK 1 ON - IT WILL MESS
UP YOUR BLUETOOTH!!! REMOVE SP1, THEN INSTALL THE BELKIN SOFTWARE.

Many thanks for this.
I get as far as 7. When I key in the IDENTICAL pin number I get a
message on the phone say Passkey Mismatch, even though there isn't. So I
start again with the wizard, the same happens. Sometimes the phone and
the PC will pair for a while but no services are offered so I never get
as far as 9. After a while I get the message saying it's all Timed Out.
Do you think the phone maybe faulty?
BTW I'm running WIN2000.

That or the Dongle - can you try another Belkin dongle or pair with
someone else's phone?

Should't make a difference

Hi there,
You don't metion which Win version you are using.
I am also using the Belkin (100 meters) BT dongle and have had a lot of
stability problems in the past. I started using the dongle with win2k and
the Belkin/SE software. That was a disaster.
I have been through various levels of instability since then.
My current setup is rock solid: WinXP Pro, using the native WinXP drivers
sw.
In my experience the only way to achieve permanent stability is to NOT use
the software from Belkin and SE. I currently use native XP tools for file
access and java installs, XTNDConnect / fMA for Outlook sync.

Hi,
I'm using WIN2000. I have XTNDConnect but that won't pair with the phone
either. I've also tried using the phone with a Mac running OSX and that
doesn't work. So I'm beginning to think the problem is with the phone.
Are there native drivers for WIN2000 that I might try?

I am not totally up to speed on SP's for win2k since I have migrated all
non-Linux systems here to WinXP. My best advice for you will be to first of
all de-install all Belkin an SE stuff, reboot, and then install the very
latest SP for win2k including relevant patches. After that windows should
recognize the Belkin plug and install the necessary stuff.
XTNDConnect will only pair with a working windows environment.
By-the-way,I assume that you have made the phone "visible" in the
Connections->Bluetooth menu?

With all due respect - XTND wouldn't even install on my XPh machine!!
I have had absolutley NO trouble with the belkin software - using
F8T003 10m adaptor.
Belkin support is excellent. I have two of these and one stopped
working. Belkin have a lifetime guarantee so I rang them up,
replacement arrived 3 days later.
I would suggest trying to pair his phone with another handset, or a BT
headset and see if the phone is faulty...

Then you've probably got a system problem.

Excellent? Belkin software is actually outdated and unstable. The SP SP2
stack is both tighter and more stable.

The phone was faulty. I went into a mobile phone shop and asked them to
try to pair the phone with another device. It was impossible. The T610
was faulty right out of the box!
Many thanks to all those who offered suggestions.
