Does anyone know when the P810/P900 is to be released in the UK, and whether
it will be worth my money? I've got a T610 at the mo, and am completely in
love with it... but I do want some of that PDA functionality... maybe I
should just buy a PDA. Anyway, please offer your opinions.

I am interested in your discussion because I had a P800 but have sold
it on. It doesn't support line 2 and, for me, that was essential. Now
I am looking for a new phone.(second numbner on same SIM) I have
considered the Nokia 3650 and I am now looking at the T610 ( I think
this does work with line 2 - any comments?) I am not over keen on the
keypad on the 3650 and it is quite long. Having said that I didn't
like the keypad on the P800 at all - I always used the touch screen -
    but it ain't so handy.
Currently I have a Palm M500 and a 6210. I like the facilities of the
Palm but it is mono and lacks some of the features I would like.
    Any recommendations and comments welcome!

Hmm... I'm not sure if the T610 supports line 2 or not, although my guess is
yes 'cos the T39 could, IIRC. But I think I'm gonna get a PDA instead of
the P810/P900... i dont I will *always* want to carry around something
bulky, u know, just take my pda when I need it. I'm looking into getting an
    Ipaq h2210/h2215 or a Toshiba e750.

IMHO the combination of Palm Tungsten and T610 is hard to beat. The T610 is
a great phone with excellent battery life and small form factor. It also
has cut down PDA functions so you can check your email at a pinch (slow
    though).

The Tungsten is the best Palm offering at the moment, fast and with a nice
colour screen, and the bluetooth integrates well with the T610, e.g. one-
handed dialling from the address book. It also does MP3 (though not as well
as a clie/pocket PC) and supports SD/MMC for extra memory.

From what I hear, the hardware is more or less finished. They just want to
improve the software, particularly wrt to usability, and make it a genuine
competitor to a PDA. People's guesses as to release time range from November
    to February.

    > it will be worth my money?

It's possible it might be hideously expensive, if they decide to aim it at a
business market. If so, the P200 (a cheaper pda/phone) might be a decent
alternative, but I don't know anything about it.

Do you want to have to carry a PDA and phone aorund with you? If not, the
P800/900 shape is pretty convenient, but it's also a fair bit bigger than a
small phone. Have a look at a P800 in a shop to see if it suits you (for
instance, it's maybe not terribly practical in your pocket). The P900 will
probably be a little smaller, but not much.

Yes, Symbian + UIQ. The P900 won't be a quantum leap, very much an
    evolution.

I could ask the friend at Symbian, but he might have to kill me if he tells
    me owt.

There's one problem with saying Palm Tungsten - there's now four models
in the Tungsten range! The original Tungsten T, which you're thinking
of, has now been superseded by the T2.

Personally, I'm a Pocket PC user - with an iPAQ 3970. The 3970 is a
great machine - still superior in some ways to the new 2210, but if
buying now, the 2210 will take some beating.
