Can someone tell em why customer support at SE are so stupid that defies
    beleif

    1) I had a problem with my phone showing 'no access' when I had a full
signal and the phone wouldnt dial out, intermitantly giving my my networks
name and full signal, which turned out to be a fault with the phone -
Ericsson still havent acknowledged the problem. Even to the point of telling
me to turn GPRS off after I told them i'd had the handset replaced.

    2) As posted in 'anyone faced the problem' my battery life (reported by the
switch on the side whilst not charging, and with a full charge) only gets to
260hrs (see post for details) - Ericsson still insist on saying

"Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre. Regarding
your enquiry,if you feel there to be a fault on the handset with regards to
stanby time and the vibrate function please contact our customer care centre
on 08705 237 237 and select option two for an advisor to advise you of the
service options available if required. Please contact the Sony Ericsson
Customer Care Centre again if we can assist you further."

Also, further to this post the Talk time, bears little relation to the
    standby time.

    3) The vibrate function doesnt work, when the phone is charging at all, see
    quote above.

    4) Numerous little software features that implemented in some places and not
others, bluetooth etc... that have been neglected

Does anyone here have any influence on SE, because all I get is standard
replies and request to call the SE Customer Care centre, which i dont really
    want to have to do.

Never found them any better/worse than any of the others.

<snip> The published figures are a fiction, only achievable in test
conditions. Annoying though it is, all phone manufacturers do the same.

    Huh?

Nor is it meant to! I can't think of ANY phone that vibrates whilst
charging - it's a safety feature to stop it vibrate itself off whatever
surface you are charging it on.

Not sure what your point is here, care to clarify?

I always thought that the vibrate function was not active when charging
cause it's just not nessecary. I mean, how often do you have the phone in
your pocket when you're charging it? It's not like you're going to hear the
    vibrator or anything.

Why don't you do what they request, and call the Customer Care Centre?
Surely you'll be able to get a resolution more efficiently than via email.

Or perhaps I just bit the bait of a troll.

Well yeah i admit this isnt a great problem with the phone. I was just
unhappy with the response, telling me to ring customer support. What are
they going to tell me? oh yeah it doesnt work your right!

The reason it's useful is this quite often I sit with the phone on my desk,
I work nights and nobody in the rest of the house does, whilst texting a
friend, but I find the beeping iratating and noisey. so i leave it on
vibrate and it just buzzes gently, not disturbing anyone but me. This did
work with the ericcson t20 i had.

Anyway this was a side problem to the one of battery life. Getting 360hrs
out of a t68i is impossible I asked for information on how to obtain this
figure and that pretty much how it all started.
