Hello NG,
does anybody know a way to enable the Bluetooth feature
on the T68i in that way, that it will be always on?
With my phone it automatically deactivates after 3 min.
I'd like to keep BT on all the time. Can this be done?
thx in advance

Yes you can set Bluetooth to always on. Go to Connect, Bluetooth, Options (I
think this is the right menu sequence). Under Options you can select On, Off
and Automatic. Select On for always on.

Are you referring to T68i's BT being "discoverable"?
Well, no, it can't always be discoverable. 3 mins is it's default
setting. You only need BT to be in discoverable mode when you are
trying to pair with another BT device. Further, keeping it discoverable
would further waste T68i's battery reserve unnecessarily.

yes that's what I wanna do, 'cause I retrieve my SMS via
BT and its annoying to "start" BT every time on the handy
before you can fetch your SMS. The NOKIA cellulars stay
in "discoverable" mode.
I guess I have to buy another phone with the required
functionality.
I thought, there would be possible a way with a strange
number sequence to activate this mode.
thx for the reply

Hold your horses. Unless you are trolling for Nokia...
Once you've paired BT devices, they no longer require "discovery mode"
for interoperability. I can get my paired laptop and/or Palm PDA to
send and retrieve SMSs through my SE T68i phone without bothering with
the "discovery mode" setting. Once paired, I just select the phone's BT
setting to be "on". No problems.

Hello Whytoi,hello NG

I meant not to offend anybody here, ;-)
I figured just out, that when they are paired, there's
no need for discover.
This REALLY helps me a lot.
and thanks for the replies.
BTW: the very LAST thing I'd ever buy is a Nokia cellphone.
So far I'm quite happy with my T68i, except the response time
is very poor.

Glad that you've worked out how BT works.
Yes, T68i isn't a sprinter but it has everything one needs for real
work. That was the appeal for me.
