Hi there,
folks, if you have not done so yet, check the 10.x.x software update
panel or Apple's site for new versions of iCal & iSync, full P800 is
finally there!
And it works! It's not perfect, but it works!
Dates from the P800 can only be imported into one calendar of iCal, and
whatever comes from iCal will be "no category" on the P800, so one still
has to manually polish things up afterwards. Take care *not* to delete
anything on the P800 before syncing in order to avoid confusion, you are
likely to end up with a schedule more clean than expected, on both devices.
Anyway, this means we Mac folks now have some sort of working backup and
can get our phones' firmware upgraded sans regret!
Oh joy!

I'd like to try the mac-P800 (preferably P900 when they release it) combo.
Question:
Can you use the new iSync to synchronise tasks (preferably but not
necessarily with bluetooth) from Entourage on the Mac to the P800?
Like the first image from the following page:
http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling...ync/index.html
only with a 'synchronise tasks' checkbox as well.
I use a pda (winCE) to synchronise with Outlook on NT4 and *need*
calendar and task sync functions on any setup that would replace it.

Ah well, I can still only dream about this. My calendar synchronization
fails after transferring 55K worth of data from my phone (iCal has no
entries; everything is on my phone). At that point it hangs up hard enough
that only manually killing SyncServer from the command line will let me quit
iSync.
Other users on Apple's discussion boards have suggested that iSync cannot
deal with infinitely-repeating events on the P800, but changing all those to
have fixed end-dates didn't help. I can't afford to wipe out all of my
repeating events -- my schedule is full of them. So I guess I'm stuck until
Apple releases another update -- maybe Panther will help.
(I did submit a bug report.)
