I've had severe problems getting my T610 to talk to my computer using
Bluetooth.
At first I installed my TRENDnet bluetooth USB adapter. No problems
all was up an running in 5 min. And I was able to transfer files
from/to the phone
Then I tried to sync Outlook using XTNDConnectPC - no luck! After
consulting google I found the others had similar problems, and the
solution was to create a virtual com port in my bluetooth setup and
activating that port in SE 'Phone monitor'. That did'nt seem to work,
and I gave it a rest. But the suddenly the next evening, I was indeed
able to synchronize with Outlook It was like that for a couple of
days, but then suddenly it stopped working.
I tried to remove my phone from Control Panel -> 'Phone Monitor'. And
reinstalled the software. But since then Phone Monitor cannot find my
phone #¤¤#¤#
I've installed a virtual serialport in my bluetooth software, and
activated the same port (also tried to activate all ports) in Phone
monitor. But nothing happens.. I can even test that the serial
connection to the phone i open, when piping something to the com-port,
then the bluetooth icon on my phone flashes.
1. How to make 'Phone monitor' / 'Phone Setting' discover my phone?
2. How to keep XTNDConnectPC working?
HELP!

I've got pretty much exactly the same problem.
I can browse the phone just fine using explorer but 90% of the time
can't synch the phone with outlook.
XTNDConnect seems to want me to have successfully run the phone settings
program first, in order to establish a connection. But 90% of the time
when I try to run the phone settings program it spends 30 seconds
searching for the phone and can't find it.
A couple of times, right after rebooting my system, the phone settings
program found my phone and the synch etc worked fine. Really annoying.

I was tearing my hair out trying to get XTNDC (or any other SE s/w) to
work consistently under XP - it would occasionally. I solved the problem
by reserving the com port in SE Phone Monitor & disabling the rest. Now
works every time. If you have a 2nd phone paired, you may need to open
its serial port manually 1st & do so each time you swap over. If File
Transfer works it simply means the BT stack is working.
Bastard, can't help much with 1. apart from suggesting that you choose
cable connection & not the BT option - you are connecting using a
virtual com port (options might be different for you, I'm using an older
version of SE PM). I got my phones recognised by SE PM by using a serial
cable before I bought my BT dongle, all attempts to run the
Communication Troubleshooter with BT failed to see either phone, even
with the cable - perhaps because it had already recognised it
previously - the upshot being that synching can work despite SE PM's
Troubleshooter saying it can't find a phone. As for Q2, selecting the
client com port & not the BT one, reserving it then disabling the rest
worked for me - YMMV.
I've also had to turn off my T610 when its BT connection has failed or
won't switch off, I'd do this 1st as a precaution.
