Re: Z600
How is the reception? Is it more like the T68 (ugh) or like the R520m
(rockin!)?
Where did you purchase it? How much?

I think that's because they aren't being sold in many countries/high
quantity at the moment. Does look like a good phone.
My questions ... has SE made more SMS message tones
available/customisable? How's the display in sunlight?

Re: Z600
I know it will make the Ericsson purists cringe but the reception is as good
or better than the Nokia 3650 which is an excellent phone for reception.
I'm in the US and use T-Mobile and the Z600 absolutely blows away the T39,
T68 or even the R520 and it has an internal antenna! I got it from these
guys:
http://www.cellularconcepts.com/phon...roduct_id=2782
and all of the standard 'T" series accessories fit this one so I didn't need
to buy new chargers, headsets, etc.

Re: Z600
SMS, MMS, Alarm and ringtones all are interchangeable and there are many
sources online for these.
The display is a 65k Transflective plate which is perfectly usable in
sunlight. The second display (the small one used when the phone is closed)
is a standard LCD which changes to a large digit clock after a few seconds
and is perfect in daylight. It automatically backlights when a call comes
in a switched to the ID display.

Sounds good.
Another question (hehe, I must be running out of my questions limit ;-)
) what happens when you miss a call or sms? does the missed call or sms
stay on the small screen? Or does it go back to the clock.
I know my questions might seem a little weird, but they are my pet
peeves about the T610! Seeing it's not due here for a little while yet
(I was quoted mid Nov, but not really sure), I don't have the chance to
play with one.

I am looking at this model in Aus - it is due in the next few weeks at
approx $650AU.
I have a daft question about communicating with the phone from a desktop
pc. Do you do this? How can it be done? Is it easy? etc etc Any links or
information about this would be appreciated.
I was considering the T610 but this model appears more robust with the
clamshell case and all. The reviews that I have read indicate that the Z600
is essentially the same as the T610 with the addition of the case. Would
this be a fair statement?

Re: Z600
I have one, and I called from my house, and the missed call indicator stayed
on the front LCD and did not change back to the clock.
any other questions i would be happy to answer

Wow. SE must have been reading through newsgroups about what people
hated about the T610 (or had focus groups) and made improvements. Wonder
if we'll also see these come through as a firmware update for the T610
or not.
Very impressive.

Re: Z600
Both...
The clock gets a bit smaller and it puts up a little icon next to it to show
either a missed call, SMS or email message waiting.

Re: Z600
I had a T610 for about a week and sent it back. It was terrible. The
screen is only 4096 colors and not TFT so it was useless in the daylight.
There was an annoying hum during calls and I've really never liked
"candy-bar" phones. My last ericsson was a T39m which I thought was great
and I went to Nokia for a short time but the Z600 pulled be right back to
SoneyEricsson.
As for the PC (or PDA) you can communicate via Bluetooth, USB or serial.
The latter two requiring optional cables. The phone support a multitude of
connection profiles so it should be able to handle whatever you're thinking
of.

Re: Z600
The display is MUCH better....., brighter and more contrast especially
if you use it in sunlight, I wouldn't recommend the T610!!

Re: Z600
That's right. T610 display is real bad especially under sunlight
