    Re: T610 and nokia 6600

    > I wanna get me one of those cars! Do you have one? Any good?

I have one yes, I wrote a post about it a couple days back.

It's a tiny, neato toy for people with more money than brains. It's a bit
expensive for what you get, and it's not a precision driving vehicle; no
analog-like controls (though there's three speeds forwards or back) and
there's a slight if rather tiny delay between you press a button and the car
reacting - usually a few tenths of a second - probably because bluetooth
isn't really meant for realtime car navigation I guess. Still, it is
perfectly driveable if you have a fair-sized surface to play along on, it's
fairly quick, esp. considering its size, and it looks good with its shiny
exterior. It's SO COOL to control a car remotely with your phone, hehe.
Makes me pretty giddy I have to say!

If she is prepared to wait a while, also consider the T630 - the
replacement with a display that can be seen outside in bright
conditions, as can the clamshell version, the Z600. Both have a very
similar UI & functionality to the T610. Perhaps the closest Nokia to the
T610 is the yet to be launched 6230.

I can confirm that the camera in the T610 is for fun rather than
anything serious! One advantage of the Nokias is they both take MMC
cards for additional memory - useful for a camera phone.

I can understand her wanting a different phone - she (or you for that
matter) is more likely to grab her phone & not yours when in a hurry.
Hopefully, her female mind also delights

If you /really/ want to impress - buy her a Vertu Signature for Xmas!

    Re: T610 and nokia 6600

I own a T610 at the moment, and to be honest I can't wait to get rid of it!

The camera is total crap, the worst I've seen on a mobile phone. All the
games I've ever tried on it run sooo bloody slow. The memory is very
limited. I'm fed up when I see my mate in college with his GX10i, it pee's
all over my T610 for image quality and games.

So between the T610 and 6600 I'd take the 6600 EVERYTIME, no questions about
it. I'm waiting for the Sendo X though, but that's another story! lol

Can anyone suggest which online store is selling them the cheapest? I
think I have seen them selling for about £55.

Tried it with a friend's - it didn't get recognised or work at all. Got
zoom though - my T610's camera only has brightness control with my early
    f/w version.

From the pics I've seen of the T630, its styling disappoints me as well
but there's nothing like handling one for certainty. If you ignore the
sunny day issue, the T610 has the best display quality combined with an
excellent UI of any phone I've seen. I hear that some Samsung's also
have very fine displays, passable cameras & v good RF performance.

I personally really like the styling & ergonomics of the T610,
especially the inward bevelled sides, unlike the T310's which are less
secure to hold due to the tapered design. Some may prefer the larger
keys on the T630 to the T610's, though I like them. One advantage SE
seem to have over other makes is good BT implementation. At least Nokia
    have some BT phones now.

I've done some looking at other makes of phone and although I'm a bit sad to
say this I'll be leaving SE for my next phone. I've used Ericsson phones for
6 years so it's a bit tough. My new phone will be a Samsung E700. It's got a
TFT screen,VGA res camera(like my communicam) but it can also take night
time pictures without a flash(unlike my communicam), and probably more
memory than you can shake a stick at. The only thing I don't like about it
    is its clamshell design.

Ooh, yeah, but that's not REALLY zoom, that's just the low (or rather REALLY
low) resolution picture...I got those button options, yeah. Anyway, thanks
for the reply, glad to know I'm not missing anything important.

    Hi!

    > Press 1 key for zoom.

1 key is a switch between "large" (large for SE T610 means 352x288) and
"small" pictures - it's not a Zoom but it looks like. :-/

Z600 is a nice Phone but it's shell case which means DNF for me (as well as
all others Motorola and Samsung phones).

If you're looking for phone with camera buy Sagem My X-6 - good camera on
board and crappy phone e.g. without Java...

Did you try any Nintedno Game Boy? :-)

Hmmm.... Try PDA or Smart Phone like P900!

    Cheers for all the replies.

After reading through them I talked about it with her. Shes hell bent on a
t610 so looks like another t610 in the house :-)

She's going to get the red one so we don't mix ours up mines silver.

I showed her the picture of the t630 she hated the design. I'm not to keen
on it and and prefer the look and feel of the t610 only quibble is the using
    it in daylight.

I appreciate the time and effort you all took to reply.

    Cheers
