    Hi,

I could find neither of these in the P900 manual.

    1. Is it me, or can you only have one voice dial command per contact,
so if I want to call say my daughter at home or on the mobile I can't
have 'Daughter home' and 'Daughter mobile', unless I create separate
    contacts for each?

    2. How do you make a number of a contact 'preferred' (or default)?

    Any hints would be appreciated.

    Best wishes,

    V.

You can specify mobile, home, work etc. for voice dialing

What are you referring to for proffered number? Speed Dial?

I have tried, but must be doing something wrong. After recording the
voice dialling command say for contact Daughter as 'Daughter mobile',
if I try to record one for 'Daugher mobile', then it overrides the
    other one ... :-(

The default number for the contact, is there no such thing? That would
explain why I could not find it ... :-)

    Thanks,

    V.

Re: [Q] P900 voice dial of contacts and preferred (default) numbers

Yes, just checked again, and did the following:

    - opened contact 'Daughter'

    - Selected 'edit contact'

    - selected voice commands

    - in the dialogue that opened selected the home number and recorded
    command 'Daughter home'

    - saved it, now when this number is selected 'play' produces 'Daughter
    home' said in my voice

    - selected the mobile number field and recorded voice command
    'Daughter mobile'

    - saved it

    - went back to the 'edit contact' dialogue

    - now both home and mobile fields say 'Daughter mobile'

This makes me suspect that like you can only have one photo per
contact, you may only have one voice per contact, so the possibility
of selecting the home or mobile number (say as default that's easily
    changed) would make sense.

Bug or feature, or am I missing something?

Is SE monitoring this group at all, do you know?

    Here's how it works on the T610 - and I assume, P900:

You create an entry in the phone book, let's say for argument's sake,
"Daughter". You record a voice command, saying for example "daughter". Under
this "Daughter" post, you enter separate phone numbers for work, home,
mobile as applicable all in the same phonebook entry. There's separate
fields for each one in the phone book.

After that, go to the voice command menu in the preferences, there you
record the commands for "work", "home", etc. When you dial, the phone will
beep and you'll say "daughter". It will beep again, and you give the
sub-command for the number you want to reach, work or mobile or whatever.
Hopefully the phone will recognize your commands and dial the appropriate
    number.

I don't know, but I have this working fine.

I say 'Hello Phone' and it beeps.

I say 'Doug Home' and it dials Doug's house.

    Then..hangup.

I say 'Hello Phone' and it beeps.

I say 'Doug Cell' and it dials Doug's cell.

Right, this makes a lot of sense, will try and report.

    Many thanks,
