Anyone know if it's possible to remove all the "Vodafone" stuff off a Sony
    T610 ?

I just bought one over the net...but it has come pre configured with
this vodafone interface etc... I'm with telstra so it's not relevant ..plus
    it looks pretty average !

Not true, you can reflash it with the original Sony Ericsson firmware, done
    it to my T610 :-)

    You have three choices.

    1. Live with it.
    2. Using a T28 cable and logging service, most of the customisation can be
    removed by flashing the firmware.
    3. Find someone in Aus with DIV or SEFighter that will re-flash the
firmware and reset GDFS which will remove all of the customisation.

Bear in mind that the latter two options will invalidate your warranty.

Well I hope you are right...I wouldbe a lot happier knowing I haven't been
completely screwed into buying this crappy vodafone version ... but...
This is what the Sony Ericsson support page says :

    Vodafone branded phones

"It is not possible to change or to erase the customized firmware on the
    phone.
This solution is valid for the following product and environment : T610 "

    Doesn't sound to promising

Don't worry it's possible but as you have discovered Sony Ericsson or
    Vodaphone will deny it's possible.
You'll probably find someone in your area who can help you reflashing the
    phone
here is an example. This is a link to Spanish website where they do they
reflash T610 you can see the before and after process

Re: Remove VODAFONE from T610 ???

Anyone know where I can get the memory flashed.and the standard Firmware put
    back into it...in Australia ?

I rang a SE service centre...and they first said "it can not be done"...but
then they said "they are not authorized to do it" !

So now I have to decide ..if I'm better off trying to get it flashed
etc...or just re selling it...count my losses...and buy another one !

If you don't find anyone maybe a better solution for you would be to buy a
terminator unlocking dongle on the net and do it yourself....
here is a link with the instrucctions and how to proceed
