Hey!
Does anyone know, if Sonyericsson is planning to develop a successor of
t39m?
Maybe same phone but faster (Menu, GPRS), better energy-management?
It was such a cool phone. Very good reception and sound, small in size, good
looking, external antenna plus connector for car-kit-antenna.
I dont understand why they don't

No chance. Sad, I know, but when Sony and Ericsson merged, this
was the end of sturdy, durable, no-nonsense business phones. I
still use both of my T39s all the time and pray to god they will
live as long as possible. I have absoluzely no idea what to get
when they die.
Btw, I have no complaint about enery management, not using IR, but
the data cable, having BT set to automatic mode, using it only
with the headset while driving.

Do you need colour in your books? Colour books are for kids.

Well, if you ask SE, they'll probably say that at long last the Z600 has
been introduced to be the rightful successor to the T39m although I'd
certainly fail to see it that way. ;-)
Kind regards,
Olaf - who still uses his old T39m and a new R520m and is as happy as a pig
in sh.. with both of them. :-)

I like color too, but I don't expect everyone else to like it. It serves
little purpose, and so far all color screens are more difficult to see. We
are on the edge of getting color screens that will be as power efficient and
usefull in sunlight as a regular old LCD, and then we can declare them as a
replacement.

Re: why no successor of t39
I am still using my T39 (I have two of them). I love this phone. It does
everything I still need. However, with the release of the z600, I
believe it's time to move on. It sure seems to me to be a good upgrade.
Meaning, I could see why SE would consider this (z600) as a "successor"
to the T39.

Technically yes, but it is much too fat when it is closed - so i don't think
it is a successor...

I agree. Z600's form factor was such a disappointment. And I thought
"Sony" had all the technical know-how on miniturization...
