I'm not sure what you're referring to since I'm not "Some Other Guy". My
GPRS has been working fine on my Treo 600, Treo 650, and Treo 680 without
any issues. My GPRS set-up probably also predates Rogers purchase because I
have the unlimited package (subject to their 1GB fair use guidelines).

On my Treos, I use the connection type of "GPRS", User Name is "fido",
password I think is "fido" also but it is hidden, the APN is
internet.fido.ca. IP address is set for Automatic and Query DNS is enabled.
I use to have a fido proxy enabled but now I don't.

With these settings, I can get my Gmail (which I believe that I've set up to
use pop/smtp). I can also browse the web (port 80), synchronize to an NTP
    (port 123), ftp, etc.

If you are still having issues, please feel free to drop by the fido
service centre, if we can program it, then all it will cost you is a
$15 internet settings fee paid for in-store.
