It has been over two weeks since anyone discussed this new gadget.

Has anyone subsequently purchased one of these units for the V120
    series?

How about a report on it?

I recently purchased one for the T720. The one for the V120 is the
exact same unit, except with a different "sleeve" (All the Moto
Cellsockets are the same 'cept for the sleeve). It works, but it's so
cheaply made. It's all plastic. The sleeve is flimsy, and hard to
take your phone out of and back in to.

There's not much to say about it. It does what it's intended to do,
which is give you a dial tone over corded or cordless phone, connected
to the cell socket which holds your cell phone. You have to dial # at
the end of every dialing sequence (e.g. 713-555-1212#) to complete
your call. That is a tad annoying.

One thing I just thought about that sucks: When dialing from the
corded phone, into say a voice mail system or bank checking account,
once connected, I can't get the touch tones to register with the
system. In other words, the system on the other end cannot hear the
touch tones I press. Works fine from the cell phone out of the cell
socket. I may be doing something wrong however, and have a call into
    Tech Support pending.

Basically, it does what it's supposed to do, and I'm sure there will
be improvements upon this "first generation" design for the Moto
phones. I'm not too thrilled with the construction of the unit, but
there's not much else to choose from right now. Part of my job is
deploying these to field sites, and we will continue to purchase them.
Also, the ones for the Nokia are a bit better made, and don't have the
    touch-tone problem I described.

The one thing they are missing is an external antenna connector. It
relies on the cell phone antenna. Cellsocket comes with a 3db-boosting
    external antenna.

Most people don't get a great signal indoors. Cidco really missed the
    boat on that...

Cellsocket for Motorola Vx Series Or Any Other Motorola Cellphone - Update1?

Any one have an update on this device?

A while ago one of the news group, Bones Boy, reported pretty positive
results except for the basic construction of the unit.

Has anyone else bought one and used it?

What do you thinks about it? Is it worth the money? Does it work as
    described?

I've had the v60 version for a couple of weeks now, and it's working
perfectly for me. I've just told Verizon to disconnect my second
landline, and am now routing all my long distance calls through the CS,
so it's saving me well over $50 a month, and will have paid for itself
    in another couple of months.

Reception is perfect (even _without_ using the CS's antenna), and it
couldn't be easier to use - it's just "Line 2" on all my 2-line phones,
and the only difference is in remembering to hit "#" when I dial out
    with that line.

I'd recommend the CellSocket with no reservations. -JW

I received mine on Feb. 12, with adapter for my T730 phone. It looks
good and worked ok, with just a few reservations. Poor voice quality
on a couple of calls -- appears that it won't pass # and * tones to my
Verizon voicemail -- must be very careful that the phone is properly
    locked into the adapter.

On Feb. 20, with no warning, it quit working. It won't receive or
    place calls.

The good news: The dealer, Doug Foote, dba D&J Enterprises, responded
to two e-mails over last week-end. The usual stuff about cleaning the
contacts and setting the phone in the socket. On Monday, after just a
little similar conversation, he announced he would order a replacement
base unit, asking that I return the old one after receiving the new
one. Of course, I haven't gotten the new unit yet.

Five stars for the dealer's service. No judgment yet on the
CellSocket. Will the failure rate be 1%, or 50%?

I live in a rural area where I can talk from my front porch but not
reliably inside the house. If it will work with normal lifetime, it
will be well worth the $150 price to me.

I've had the v60 version for a couple of weeks, and so far so good. The
only thing I would note is that when I try to use a headset plugged into
the cordless phone attached to it, it doesn't always work that well--the
people I'm talking to think I'm cutting in and out a lot. Works fine if
I just use the cordless phone with out plugging in the headset. I think
the problem is that the headset doesn't pick up my voice quite as well,
and something about the CellSocket magnifies that problem. I'll probably
    try a different headset soon.
