I'm currently a Nextel user, and want to go another provider. I can get
rid of push-to-talk, but I really love my i60c's speakerphone. The
phones I've tried in the past don't have speakerphones worth using; they
either sound like the other party is in a tin can, and/or the volume
    is incredibly low.

Anyone have any suggestions? Motorola or Nokia seems to be the way to go...

    Thanks!

Some have praised the v60s which is newly released. As of last week
it was on the Verizon Web pages but not on the Motorola Web pages yet.

My wife and I bought a pair. We have been quite happy with it, but
not being a speakerphone fan I have not used that feature much. That
feature certainly _is_ easy to enable and disable.

The v60s _manual_ (and presumably what Motorola will post in PDF)
does not do the phone justice. Except for push-to-talk, it has
all the features listed in the manual of it's older brother v60p.
For my purposes this includes especially the ability to ascribe
different ring tones (including silent) to various incoming caller
ID numbers. My default is "silent" and the favored few will get
    "vibrate".

The v60s has a good speakerphone. Mine was defective and returned. There
    are still no replacements available.

The v60's tdma & gsm has a Motorola clip on speakerphone. Have one with no
batteries and clips to the back. others clip to the bottom and sit on your
    passenger seat or desk.

If you are a Verizon Fan, Motorola 270c has got to be one of the very best.
I use one daily, and the v60s was Verizon's attempt to update me. I use
Nokia 6360's (and now 6340i on GSM) on ATTWS with the Nokia CarKit and desk
speakerphones. Most speakerphones built into phones have very soft volume.
If you GSM, the ERicsson r520m speaker phone is ok in quiet rooms and has
    bluetooth.

Before you invest too heavily in any one brand, check into Bluetooth. Like
everything in life, it depends on your budget. Unless you are a techie, go
    Verizon and V60s.

Spend the extra money (retail 99.00) I'm sure you can find it cheaper
online, I did. Go for the good quality Motorola hands free kit. I
spent money on the cheaper ones, and everyone said it sounded
terrible. Finally, broke down and spent the money on this one, and
    it's great!

Motorola 270c has the best speakerphone except for the Nextel series.

Have you ever used a V60P/S?

Thanks for all the input. I haven't been able to find the Motorola
v60s, but I don't care to use Verizons PTT service (which seems to be
not as good as Nextel, yet just as expensive). I have looked around for
the 270c, but not too many seem to be available (on eBay at least). I'm
somewhat partial to flip phones because of their size.
