Re: V600 text message/SMS capacity
depends on the sim card. With 32kb sim, its about 20-30.
Then on other hand, the new Vseries (V300---V600) phones have ability to
save the data direct to the phone. Unfortunately the operator determines
that setting, not user accessible. If the oper enabled that from the
factory, you could save up to about 80.

My V400 starts crying around 10-15 "healthy" text messages (messages
more than 160 characters) too. Apparently the 5 MB memory is not
allocated to text messages.
I deleted the "quick notes" text messages for a bit more memory.

I did some research and heard that the Outbox uses the phone memory and the
inbox uses the SIM memory. That's pretty poor design if it's true - what a
waste of 5mb!

Re: V600 text message/SMS capacity
On my V600 the SMS storage for sms received is SIM only, so it all depends
on your sim how many you can have. And yes it saves a lot of messages in the
outbox !
Motorola should have made it the other way around. Hopefully they might
release a firmware upgrade to solve this problem.
