Hi, all. I have a Motorola bag phone, model SCN2423B, that I bought
from ebay. Somehow, I messed around with it and locked it. I think I might
have pressed FCN 5 when I accidentally locked it. Does anyone have any clue
on how to unlock this phone? Are there any "tricks" this phone can do?
Any tips, tricks, etc.? Yeah, I know bag phones are "old school", but
thanks for any help.

If you don't know the security code, then you will have to
short two pins on the db25 connector.
Go to google and search for "Motorola bible"
Or use one of these links.

http://packetstormsecurity.nl/cellul...a/motbible.txt
http://www.totse.com/en/phreak/cellu.../motbible.html
The Motorola bible will have most of the information you need.
To make the jumper, if you don't have a break out box,
take a single strand from a very thin stranded wire, and cut into a 3/8
length
and bend it into a very small U, then insert into the pin 20 and 21 holes of
the connector.
(ie) jumping across them, then install the connector, making sure the jumper
stays in place.
When you turn on the phone, you should see the test mode display.

Re: Unlocking a Motorola bag phone?
Hi. Thanks for the info. I probably did it wrong (though, it certainly
seems easy enough to do), I shorted 20 and 21, but it still reads "Loc'd".
I will keep trying. If it still doesn't work, I will try different numbers
to unlock the phone. Can I assume all that I need to do is type three
numbers to unlock it, or do I have to type "FCN" or "STO" before or after
the numbers? Thanks for your help.

All you have to do is type in the three numbers.

I was going to say that you have to enter the service level mode by
hitting the "#" button, but from what I see below, I think you
already figured that out.
> Okay, I got it now! Thanks.
Once you get into the service mode, reprogram the
lock code by entering "55#" and following the procedure.
After you reprogram it to "000" then restart the phone,
and unlock it by hitting "000"
