I am unable to speak due to a physically malady. My parents, a few
thousand miles away from me are, shall I say, "technologically
challenged."
My parents have a Motorola T730 on Verizon Wireless. Due to my
impairment, I send them text messages on their T730. Unfortunately,
they do not know how to delete previously-read text messages.
I have taken the time to review Verizon Wireless' online T730 manual,
as well as Motorola's. However, I am unable to locate step-by-step
directions as to how to delete previously-read text messages.
I sent Verizon Wireless a request for assistance via e-mail, and after
a few days they responded with a boilerplate reply instructing me to
call Customer Service; unfortunately, not an option for me.
If you know how to delete text messages on a T730, I would be
eternally grateful if you would post the same here, i.e.,
Press the "X" button
Select "Y" by pressing the "X" button
Etc.
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Motorola T730 - Deleting Text Messages
Have Inbox displayed (messages, scroll to inbox, press select)
Pressing the menu button (top center) brings up a menu
In that menu are delete and delete all
delete just deletes that 1 message
delete all does just that
note: when reading an individual message, pressing the menu button
will give you the option of locking that message. this then prevents a delete all
from deleting that message

Re: Motorola T730 - Deleting Text Messages
You can also set the T Series to remove old message after X number of days,
You can set it as low as 1 day, Where it deletes all previously read
messages, Then you won't have to delete all the time, Let the phone do it
for you.
Its in the TEXTMESSAGING OPTIONS.

On my T730, the cleanup of old messages seems to occur only on powerup
or when the cleanup function is explicity invoked from the menu. I've
had month-old messages with a one-week expiration date. My phone is
never turned off, so I have to explicitly use the "cleanup" menu item
to clear out old messages.

Re: Motorola T730 - Deleting Text Messages
>From the main "desktop" screen, press the right side of the round
navigation button ">". the next screen gives you a list of "Message
Center" options. With the round navigation button, press down "V" until
"Inbox" is highlighted. press the "Select" button (top right of
keyboard with a single dot on it). The next screen has a list of the
Inbox messages, with the first one automatically highlighted. To delete
an individual message, highlight it by using the round navigation
button, then press the "Menu" button (middle top of keyboard with
several dash lines on it). The next window has options listed, one of
them is "Delete". Highlight that option by using the round navigation
button (down), then press the "Select" button (top right of keyboard
with a single dot on it) to delete that single message. There is a
"Delete All" option in that list for deleting all of the messages in
the Inbox.
