Hi all,
I have a v300 from Tmo. I would like to pickup a data cable for it, but I
have a couple of questions:
1. I see several eBay 2 in 1 data\charging cables for the v300 (like from
eforcecity). Do the dual function charging\data cables work for the v300?
I thought I have read elsewhere that these do not work with the phone.
2. Once I get the cable, what software do I need to access the phone's
features and have it act as a data\fax modem?
If you guys can recommend vendors (with URLs), it would be much appreciated.
I want to make the right purchase the first time around.
Thanks,
George

Re: V300 data cable\software - what to get?
get T-Mo Internet software (includ. driver)
just use motorola USB modem, and you'll be fine

Re: V300 data cable\software - what to get?
moto phone tools and truesync both let you change and manage things in your
phone like phonebook, calendar and let you make backups of your phone.
Phone tools lets you play with ringtones (including load MP3 tones to your
phone), upload, download and edit pics. You can take a pic from your comp
and crop it/resize it to fit best on your phone screen.
Phonetools is well worth the $$ and has lots of features (even SMS stuff).
It is also nice since it displays a pic of your phone, and it works for
multiple phones (i use it for my v300 and v60).

Re: V300 data cable\software - what to get?
Download phone tools here:
http://www.motclub.com/html/programs.htm
Its a spanish site, but the programs are the eng version.
There is also a drivers section with the appropriate modem drivers etc.
As you say, you should be able to pick up a USB data cable for under $10
on ebay.
Hope that helps
