    for what its worth....

i purchased an audiovox 8600 phone and started using it a couple days ago. i
am a software engineer and am used to terse operating systems and cludgy
software, but i found the user interface on the 8600 to be overly-complex,
non-intuitive, and in some cases (eg, searching the phone book, setting up
voice dialing, the flashing 'verizon wireless' logo that blocks out the name
of an incoming caller, etc.) to be just plain poorly designed. and on top of
that, you get the laughable documentation.

but the phone is SMALL, aesthetically appealing, cute, ergonomically comfy,
and, well, damned cool. and i would have stayed with it had i not discovered
the showstopper--i lost signal on my commute home (through the dulles
corridor near DC) in a couple weak areas where my moto T720 never dropped
    calls.

if this phone had the same reception quality of my moto, i would have
gritted my teeth and spent the time learning the arcane UI. but it didnt, so
im switching back over to my moto and putting the audiovox on ebay. i
probably wont lose money, but i did have high hopes for this little phone. a
    disappointment. wish it performed better!

    IMHO
