hi
if i buy an LG vx4400 off ebay...
A.) how do i know if it has the V10 firmware, and
B.) can i get it zapped at a verizon store if it doesnt?

Ask the seller. It's easy for him to find the software version: Menu-9-2.

Mine is TC4VZV05 . Is this too old ?
And how much will they charge for flashing firmware to the newest version ?

Well, if it works for you, probably not. You might want to upgrade if
your phone likes flipping back and forth between digital and analog
(from what I've heard).
V10 also lets your phone use the high-speed 1X data connection for
Mobile Web and Get It Now, so if you use those then you might want the
upgrade. But if you've had your plan for a long time, you might need to
get customer service to change your account if you upgrade to V10,
because you might not already be authorized to use 1X.
