Hello, I bought a V525 three weeks ago, finally made the jump from Nokia to
Moto. The phone is great.....except on Saturday
last while away in Spain, my phone just died!!!
It won't power on, I've plugged in the charger and nothing happens, the
phone remains lifeless. I have also tried another battery but nothing.
The most annoying part is I took alot of pictures while in Spain and I fear
they are all lost.
Is there anything that can be done to rescue the phone or most importantly
the photos.
Any help greatly apreciated!!!
Thank you in advance - Batman2002

Re: V525 Problem
Hi matey..
Sorry can't help - but I've always been a Nokia man.. but thought this
time I'd try something different.. so I got a v525. Looks a great
phone. Can't use it yet cos I'm still waiting for the unlocking code
so I can use my O2 sim..
Good luck with your problem.

It's probably dead and taken your pix with it. My first V500 was faulty
when I got it. It would switch itself off after about 30 seconds. It got
replaced and the new one is fine. This doesn't help you but the point is
I don't think it's a robust or reliable handset. Hope I'm wrong.

Re: V525 Problem
I had the same problem.
The battery on v525 is 3,6V. When voltage in your battery is lower that 3V
phone can't be turned on and also charged, although the battery is OK. It's
the best and most recommended to go to your service to fix your battery. Or
if you want to do it yourself, you need to raise the voltage in your
battery. You can do it by short connecting your battery for a very short
time, about less than a second, on 12V power supply. After it discharge your
battery and charge it full on turned off mobile. There is also electronic
device that does the same thing. You put your battery on it, leave it for 12
hours and you have fixed battery.
This advice isn't one of my own. I got it from my friend that works in
mobile service for motorola phones.
But I most recommend to visit service!!!

Re: V525 Problem
Whoa, be really careful. DO NOT connect LITHIUM ION batteries to external
supplies that aren't designed for it. Lithium Ion batteries have a chip
inside that communicate with the charger that was designed for it, which
also has a chip in it. Lithium can be dangerous and can explode. A few
months back there were reports of Kyocera and Nokia batteries exploding due
to third party batteries without protective circuitry.
Don't mess with these batteries. Just get a new one.

Re: V525 Problem
Thanks guys for your swift replies, I've ordered a new V525, which I should
receive later today.
I spoke to a few other Moto users and apparently its quite a common issue,
which is sorted by upgrading the firmware (before it dies).
Thany you all again - Batman2002
