Ok, this is not a Motorola, but I would like to point my finger on one
issue. Just recently Motorola revealed new models coming later this year,
but only 1.3 megapixel cameras. This week a small vendor reveals a 2.1
megapixel camera phone to come in 2004. Why is one of the biggest
manufacturer not able to keep up with the small ones?
You can read about this phone here

It is a cellular phone, not a camera! Who needs a camera anyway?

EXACTLY! 1.3 MP is more than enough for a phone. Besides, what good
is a 2MP+ camera unless you have a good lense, flash, optical zoom,
etc. Its not about the MP count, its the optics that matter most.
There are many 3-4MP cameras that take better pictures than 5-6MP
cameras. The camera integrated into Motorola phones is still one of
    the best on the market.

On the other hand, if people want to complain about why large
companies cant keep up with smaller ones... well, Nokia just announced
that their camera phones will all be about 0.9MP in 2004. So out of
the large companies it looks like Motorola is the inovator with their
    1.3MP camera phones.

IMHO this IS currently the best all around phone.
    http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4616.html

The state-of-the-art Sharp GX30 comes with a built-in CCD camera capable of
taking pictures at a previously unheard resolution of 858 x 1,144 pixels, a
first for European networks - and in fact, for GSM networks as well. The
camera comes complete with Flash, and users will also be able to control
shutter speed, do multi-shots and set a self timer for those all-important
    vanity shots.

Additional new features include an internal, 18-bit colour display capable
of showing up to 262,144 colours - four times the quality of the GX20, an
SD/MMC Card expansion slot, as well as an MP3 player. There's also an
external, 16-bit colour display for Caller ID and reception/battery
indicators, which shows the time when idle.

Other features include support for Bluetooth and Infrared, as well as
polyphonic ringtones and GPRS, joined by picture ID functionality and video
    recording capabilities.

    Measuring 95 x 49 x 26 mm and weighing in at 100 g, the Sharp GX30 is listed
as offering a talk time of up to 200 minutes and up to 220 hours of standby
time. According to Vodafone, the Sharp GX30 will be available in retail
stores from March 2004, however no details concerning its pricing were
    announced.

btw.... I want one! and yes, I know they are on ebay! $660.21 w/ 15hrs
    left to bid.. ouch
