When trying to sync between Outlook 2002 and my T720, the transfer only
    moves 12 - 14 entries.

I'm using WinXP Pro and a USB connection, direct to the PC (No Hub). During
the sync, the phone illuminates for about 10 seconds, and although the PC
indicates the sync process is continuing, the light goes out.

I've uninstalled everything, cleaned the registry, removed the "modem" entry
from the Device Manager, and even done a AMSTER RESET of the T720, but
nothing has changed. I've syncronized this phone in the past, and was even
able to restore a backup from 2 months ago, but I can't get my Outlook
contacts to move to the phone (other than the 12 - 14 as mentioned)

    Any suggestions?

In Outlook, create a subfolder and copy the phone entries from your address
book into it. If you have created categories, delete them from the entries
in the new folder you made. Make sure you change the settings in Truesynch
(assume that's what you are using) to refer to the contacts in this new
folder. Backup your phone first if you have entries you want saved., then
force Truesynch to delete and overwrite at next synch.

    Re: T720 Syncing Problem

    Thanks for the suggestions.

After trying that, and still having difficulty, I hit upon the answer which
is in a similar vein to your idea.

Turns our that in my Outlook Contact (the original one) I had created a new
form for the contacts. In doing so, a new message-class was assigned to the
contact entries as I updated the them. The default message class is
IPM.CONTACT --but-- any new contacts that are created, take on the message
class of IPM.<formname> which in this case was IPM.CustomContact.

So when you update your contact information, or sync it from a PDA, and then
later drag-&-Drop it into the "PhoneBook" folder for syncing with the phone,
it will have an IPM.CustomContact message class and therefore not sync as
    expected.

Somewhere in the logic of TrueSync must be code that only syncs the default
message-class IPM.CONTACT, so by writting some quick and dirty code to
change the internal message-class from IPA.CustomContact, back to the
default, the syncronization now works as before.

Bottom line is that if you create a new form, you need to save the original
with a new message-class just in case you need to return to the default.
Then take the new form, ans save it with a default message class of
    IPM.CONTACT.

    Viola, problem solved.

<PS> A search of Google turned up a canned utility for this purpose called
    DocMessageClass from www.outlookstore.com
