I have upgraded this week from PAYG onto a square deal and subsequently
received my (free) Motorola V500 on Tuesday. The phone is very buggy and
keeps freezing up and, whilst I like the design, am not sure I made the
    right choice.

    What are my options:

    1. Will Orange simply replace the handset with another? If so will I
need to return this one and be without one?

    2. If I so wish, given I am within 14 days, can I cancel the contract,
pay the charges and revert to PAYG then take another square deal with a
dofferent handset if (1) is not possible?

    3. Am I able to insure the handset with Orange care and then exercise
that option to replace as faulty? Out of intetest what happens if an
insured handset is no longer available if it bacomes faulty? Do they have
pre-specified alternatives or can you pick?

Can anyone comment whether the V600 is any different? Failing that it looks
    like back to Nokia ;-(

    All help appreciated.

    Cheers

Re: New Orange Contract - faulty V500

Call orange asap. AFAIK within 28 days you can get a replacement
straight from stock, you hang on to the v500 that you have until the new
unit arrives then post it back. i think you can also choose to have it
replaced with a different model if you wish - in that case you may have
to pay an upgrade fee if the handset you want costs more.
