I've been with them for about 5 months, and at $2/month plus $.07/min,
they're hard to beat. The online control panel is excellent and gives
full and instant control of your forwarding.

Also, for a one time $10 charge, you can have the payphone block put
on so that you don't incur the $.50/call recoupment fee on calls from
payphones. That was a big plus for me.

I have Ring Central (www.ringcentral.net) that has a similar feature on
their 800-Works service. It costs me $39.99 a month for unlimited inbound
calls from anywhere in the US, and I can have it ring 4 destination phone
    numbers simultaneously.

Be careful with kall8 - I've been using them for ~3 months, and although
their features are wonderful, I've had several reports of misdirected
calls, and callers who get various telco error messages when attempting to
call. If you're counting on 100% of your calls getting through, you might
want to have each of your contacts test it for you before you commit to it
    as a working solution.

I can see where there is a potential for errors, because of all the
changes involved. Telecom erors seem to go hand in hand with any kind
    of data changes.
    The price sounds good.

Vonage users get a cheaper toll-free number, and offer redirection to
cellular and other numbers, configurable in a very flexible way.

To be quite honest, I don't think reliability of call delivery is a
factor here. I have a customer who has a site dedicated to helping
people find registered sex offenders living near them, and he wanted
the toll-free number that rings to an answering machine for use as the
domain registration contact number. He went with the toll-free
service so ANI would track the numbers from any harassing or
threatening calls made by pissed off offenders. He really doesn't
expect (or want) calls there, and the answering machine advises people
to submit their inquiries via the form on his website.

Re: Follow Me 800 Numbers, was "Two phone numbers, different carriers, same phone

Coming in late here on the conversation. I also picked RingCentral for the
sake of the simultaneous-ring -- it rings my home, cell, and work numbers
simultaneously. Since I have unpredictable hours, and frequently go in and
out of cell phone range (cell phone coverage is not very good in the SF Bay
area) my callers always had to hunt around for me. Lots of other good
features too, like having it automatically label the e-mailed voice messages
with my address-book name of the caller. Over the first two weeks it has
worked really well and it looks like a keeper. My only wish is that I could
have kept my old local number (they're not set up for "local number
    portability".)
