    No.

    They actually understated the issue. While it's true that AT&T locks their
    phones, the real problem is that AT&T and Verizon use different digital
    technologies. The hardware in your phone is not compatible with Verizon.

    v60i switching from at&t to verizon

    Hello;

    I've got a motorola v60i from at&t and cancelled my plan.
    would like to use with phone with my verizon family plan, verizon tells me
    they cannot program the phone since at&t puts their own code/software on
    their phones.

    is there a way I can get around this

    AT&T uses TDMA and GSM; Verizon uses CDMA. I'm unsure if your phone can be
    reflashed to become a CDMA phone -- it may require different hardware. Unless
    all you want is an analog phone ;-)

    It is a hardware difference that can not be overcome.

    T-mobile, AT&T, Cingular and most of the carriers worldwide use a technology
    called GSM.

    Verizon & Sprint use CDMA.

    You'll have to buy a GSM phone.
