I recently purchased a Motorola T720G which I thought would be unlocked. It's not.
The phone was pre-configured for Cingular. My T-Mobile SIM obviously doesn't work.
After I turn the phone on (with the T-Mobile SIM installed) it's asking for a
"Subsidy Password". Does anyone know who can provide me with this code.
Bear in mind I'm a complete novice in the "cellular world".
TIA for anyone's help.

Re: Subsidy Code
I am not a specialist for GSM phones because I work for a CDMA carrier
but I know that a software called VictorGSM will unlock GSM phones.
It's easy to find a cracked version on the internet so you don't have
to pay $500 as the creator wants for this software. Good luck.

Re: Subsidy Code
The crippled "FREE VICTOR GSM will not do 720s. You need either a Patriot
clip or do a Flash Flex Unlock. Anyone claiming they are new to the cellular
world should stop right here. The 720 can be a BIxCH and not a good starter
unlock phone. Find someone to unlock it in the newsgroup Forum, as in here,
or go to Howard Forums and look around. There is way too many 720s with Blue
Screens out there from the DIY community. One very repurtable company is
BOINGO Wireless.
NOTE: if your acct is over 90 days old with TMOBILE, you can request an
Unlock for CINGULAR, BUT, if you do not have the Original Phone owners Name
and Mobile Number, they say 7-10 Business days.
Just call Customer Service or use the online web reqest general info form at
the TMO web site.
