I couldn't find anything in the manual, and I searched motorla's site and
was unable to find anything. But I will keep searching.

Hmm I wonder if this could be a rebadged / renamed model - I can`t see
    anything about it myself...

An MP3 file IS (can be used as) a ringtone on a lot of current phones. It's
usually desirable to cut down both the sample rate and playing length of an
MP3 to avoid wasting a lot of space on the phone. MP3 cutter and Audacity
are two pretty good ones that are free.

If you're looking for a program that will convert an MP3 file to a .mid
file, then you're out of luck as there is no such thing and if you think
about it a bit you'll see why.

A lot of current phones can use standard type 0 midi file for ringtones.
Again, it's usually a good idea to cut down the playing length as anything
over 20-30 seconds or so is a wasted for a ringtone. I usually use around 10
seconds max of either a midi file or MP3 file for ringers for my V710.

And then there is the matter of just how you're going to get the ringtones
from the computer to your phone? Do you already have a data cable (most
commonly USB) and software that will do that?

    All things to think about....:-)

Actually there are MP3 (wave) to MIDI converters (e.g.,
<http://www.intelliscore.net/product.html>). Results are of varying quality
depending on the particular wave file and converter.
