Hi all! I recently bought an unlocked v525 on eBay. The menus and
key presses seemed slow, and the Vodaphone customization was annoying,
so I decided to flash and flex the phone. First, I flexed it with
GI9V600000AA0E9, and then I flashed it with TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4AR
(which is the most recent flash I could find on the web available for
download). Now I seem to be running into some weird bugs. I have to
wonder if something went wrong during the process because, from what
I've read, this flash file and flex file are very "stable." (E.g.,
was it a mistake to flex before flashing?) I'm thinking the only way
to fix the phone is to reflash and reflex, but I'm not sure what flash
and flex I should use. Can someone here make a recommendation? Here's
    what the phone is doing:

    1) Time stamping is really screwed up. In general, the phone seems to
keep time OK, but I'm getting wrong timestamps on calls. I just got a
call at 12:51 pm and rejected it. My phone said 12:51 on the front
display. When I went to "Received Calls" it says the call came
through at 11:51 am. If I miss a call, it tells me it came through 8
hours later than it actually happened (I think that corresponds to
GMT, but the phone is not set to that timezone). Bizarre.

    2) The Received Calls menu now seems to be overwriting previous calls
from the same number. Before I flashed the phone, if I missed 2 calls
from a particular number, each call would show up in Received Calls
(I'd see the same phone number twice). Now I only see the most recent
call. That's similar to how my old Sony Ericsson phone (t68i) handled
keeping track of calls, but I got used to seeing multiples, and I
    prefer that now.

    3) The datebook is screwed up. I entered an appointment on December
1st at 5:00 pm. Later, when I went to view it, it showed up on both
December 1st and December 2nd. When I deleted it from December 1st,
it was deleted from both. Another time, I entered the same
appointment, and it showed up at 1:15 pm the following day.

    4) When I'm using my bluetooth headset, no matter what ring style the
phone says I'm on, it seems to ring in the "loud" style.

    5) Before flashing/flexing, the 2 key was a bit sluggish. Now it
seems worse. If I press the 2 key gently 5 times, it will only show
up on my screen once. It seems I have to hit it fairly hard to get it
to show. I have the same problem to a lesser extent with the 5 key.
Maybe it's just a coincidence and this is a hardware problem. It's
becoming maddening, and I'm afraid these keys may eventually not work
at all. I'm also afraid I may not have warranty coverage. Even if I
revert to the OEM flash and flex, since I bought this phone from a
"regular guy" (i.e. not a reseller) on eBay, I don't think the
warranty applies. I don't have his original receipt, and the phone
didn't come with warranty information. Can someone tell me if there
is a way around this? Can I provide the eBay record of purchase?
Would it be covered automatically based on the phone's relative youth
(e.g. all phones come with a 1 year warranty and this phone by
definition is less than a year old)? I am planning to call Motorola,
but I'd appreciate any guidance from the group.

That's all I have discovered and can think of for now. It's really
bizarre, and I haven't noticed any reports of similar odd behavior on
the web. Can someone tell me if these problems would be more likely
to be due to the flash or to the flex (or both or either)? Does
anyone know where I can find TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45AR for download?
(That seems to be the latest firmware referred to on the web.) I'm
thinking of going to the SE6452AXXP10F9 flex. Would anyone recommend
a different one based on the problems I'm having? Thanks for any
insight or advice you can offer!

    Susan

P.S. There are some features that my t68i had that I miss, such as
timer and stopwatch. Is there somewhere I can download applications
    to do this?

There was a thread about this on Howard Forums and I have the same issue.
Someone could not set the time properly with the engineering flex and the
..45R flash. The time (set either manually or by automatic update) was always
wrong; sometimes by a fixed interval (1h) and sometimes random. Time
stamps on received calls/messages were similarly affected. IIRC the
recommendation was to re-flex again, after the new flash had initialized.
The original poster found that did not help, and ended up hunting around
until he found a stable combination. I tried a quick search to see if I
could get you a link to this thread, but it doesn't seem to come up for me
    now.

Don't know anything about the other issues. While later firmware improved
the responsiveness of the menus, your keypad thing really seems like hardware.
