Hi, I have a Motorola V3 unlocked Phone and the light behind for the buttons doesn't come on, It only comes on for few seconds when you turn the phone ON. But if you flip it closed, then flip it open the backligh for the buttons does not come on, the backlight for the screen comes on but not for the buttons, Anyone have any ideas ?
Is there a Setting that needs to be changed or set ?
Thanks everyone.

Under MENU:SETTINGS:INITIAL SETUP you can select BACKLIGHT for 20, 40, or 60
seconds but it doesn't sound like that's your problem. Since your keypad is
acting independent of the screen I fear you may have a repair issue.

Try it in the dark, there's a light sensor.

Re: V3 Razr Button Light not coming on
you are right Steve.
It has a light sensor, and if it detects enough external light the light
behind the buttons turn off.
The sensor is a little hole located betwen the keypad and the screen.

If it's anything like my i90c and i730, both of which have that feature,
there should be an option to turn it off in the menus somewhere.
It's a nice idea, but the response time was too slow for my needs. I'd
be riding on the train or bus, it would get dark (from a tunnel or
bridge or something), the light wouldn't turn on until I was through the
tunnel, by which time I didn't need the light anymore.
Moreover, I found that it seems to take a fair amount of power.

Re: V3 Razr Button Light not coming on
Well, in this case the response time is until you press a key.
If you enter in a tunnel the back light will turn on in the moment that you
press a key.

I'm usually pressing keys continually (email or text messaging), but
there is a definite lag in the i90 and i730. Glad to hear they managed
to fix it.
