I just got an "upgrade" to a V3 to replace by old SE Z600.
I am trying to transfer my phonebook across. When I did this going from a
T68i to the Z600 it was simple - Send all by bluetooth.
If I try this with the V3 is seems to transfer but the V3 comes up with a
message "Entire phonebook too large to open". I have reduced it from 350
records to around 200 but still the same. I have removed all the linked
pictures, voice recording and ringtomes which the SE transferred without
    problem but still no go.
I have tried sending them all to my PC which puts them in Outlook where they
can then be selected as a block and sent by BT but the V3 can only cope one
    at a time.
Am I missing something obvious or am I really going to have to transfer them
    one at a time?

I'm trying to be open minded about this phone as it's the first Motorola
since a Startac many years ago but so far I'm not impressed. The address
seach someone else mentions in another recent post seems so fundamentally
    flawed.

    Re: Transfering phonebook to V3

Your best bet would be a program like Data Pilot (www.datapilot.com)
that works with pretty much any phone. It will let you download the
phonebook to the program, massage it as required to meet the Moto
format, and upload it to the v3.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Bruce.
I got there in the end by sending the full phonebook to the PC (Outlook),
exporting from Outlook as CSV then importing the csv to Phonetools and
synchonising. Took a bit of messing about with fields but is OK now.

I'm having the same problem. Could you please explain the "phonetool"
    part?
    Thanks
