    Hi everybody!

    I own Mobile PhoneTools 3.x from my Motorola V300 / V535 handsets.

I'm now thinking of buying a Razr V3. Will my software work with that
phone, too, when I buy the right USB cable?

Is the small usb jack on the phone side of this cable the same one
which I know e.g. from printers and cameras or is it specific
    Motorola?

    Thanks for your answers.

    Rudi

It's "one" of the "standard" USB jacks. I have 2 different kinds of USB
cables for different cameras. A couple of them fit but I use Bluetooth so I
can't say if the USB works with your software.

    Yes.

The V3 comes with the USB cable in the box.

I've tried it with a standard mini USB cable from the digital camera and it
works with that as well, but I tend to stick with the supplied cable anyway.

If you buy a v3 in a Cingular box it will not include the cable. Non-US
packaging includes more stuff. I used the cables that came with my
camera and mp3 player and they work fine. It is a standard mini usb
connection (5 pin). MPT will work with the v3. Just run Live Update to
get the latest version when you start it up and you'll have the v3
    support.

That's a bit of a bugger. And I thought we had problems with networks
butchering phones and standard kit in the UK.....

Yeah, it's all up to the carrier. Cingular outdid itself on cheaping out
this time. They give you the phone, a battery, manual, charger, wipe and
cardboard box - not even the nice aluminum box Motorola designed for it.
