Motorola V551 System Selection

Oh well, it wasn't so easy. Stinkin' Cingular tells me that my phone is
"pre-ENS" (manufactured before 15-Nov-2004), so they cannot change the
system selection preference. What the hell? Here I am with a 4 year old
PacBell SIM and I can change systesms, but Cingular SIMs somehow
require a brand-new phone! So I call up the equipment provider,
LetsTalk.com, and they tell me no way can they guarantee me a phone
that was manufactured after a particular date. So I'm SOL. Yes, I truly
hate Cingular, but most of my friends are unfortunately Cingular
customers.

How is this Cingular's fault? If you had bought the phone from Cingular, then
you could have simply returned it within the grace period and/or exchanged it
for a new phone. No offense, but you need to take responsibility for your own
actions.
