I've found battery life on Motorola phones fairly disappointing
compared to Nokia (I've have about 5 models of each over the last 10
years). But battery conditioning seems to provide me better results
on my mot phones than others describe.

I always buy a spare battery and use a dual charger (phone
cradle/extra battery slot). I charge both overnight when I first get
them, then I leave the phone switched on until the battery dies. At
this point, I replace the battery in the phone with the fully-charged
spare and place the empty on the charger overnight.

I always repeat this process - never having the phone off unless I'm
changing the battery. I find this "conditioning process" allows a
battery to last almost a week with minimal talk time or a few days
    when I talk alot.

    Re: V551 Battery Life-What can I do?

I LOVE my V551. I did a search on EBAY and found a battery and desktop
charger for about $10 as a combo deal and that includes shipping! The
charger is a dual in the fact that u can have the phone AND a spare
battery charging at the same time. I then found a battery for $1.98
on EBAY with a hellacious $6 S7H charge but now I have two spare
batteries and a desktop charger! Awesome!

Sounds like a good deal. I'll have to look for something like that.

Ya and it's probably a non-oem batt that has the potential to blow up. Pay
the extra ten and be safe!
The battery prob is a known software prob that can be corrected by yourself,
or by Moto if you are covered.
