I just got a Motorola v265 cellphone and am looking for a recommendation
on a good earpiece headset to use with it. This phone doesn't have
bluetooth so it will have to be a wired type.
I'm primarily interested in one that has good mic quality as well as
earphone quality.
Any suggestions for brand/model to get?
Thanks in advance

For mobile use, I've been quite happy with the Jabra Earwave-- the Boom
model, not the one with the dangle mike. For home and office, I use a
Plantronics- the model that goes over the head, has the noise canceling mike
and costs about $30-- sorry but I don't have the model number right on hand.

Jabra anything is great. Take your pick. I've tried them all and I
prefer the earwave. As for the speakerphone, it is quite good, but if
you have tire noise or an older car, it will be a problem from my
experience.

I use Jabra's older model, the EarBoom... For me, it's a perfect fit,
but my wife can't stand it.
What model you choose, try it on, first. No matter how good the sound
quality, if it's not a comfortable fit, it's of no value.

I picked up two EarBoom units at half price recently. They're completely
useless to me; the short boom and nondirectional microphone pick up every
bit of background noise, and the heater fan in my car isn't silent, so
no one can hear me (from my car, the only place I have any use for the
EarBooms).

Anything from JABRA, cannot go wrong!

Re: What's a good cellphone headset?
I have been through about 5 headsets and have always gotten complaints about
people not being able to hear me, I couldn't hear them. Worst of all the
earpiece would NEVER stay in my ear. The wrap around the top of the ear
didn't work.
Finally, bought a Plantronics MX150. It is absolutely the best headset I
have ever owned. I can hear people, they can hear me and it stays in my
ear. It has a boom microphone (noise cancelling). It is great.

Sony Ericsson. My favorite model is the old HBH-30, which you may be able to
find on eBay.

If you're looking for higher end look at etymotics and
TheBoom. TheBoom is kind of substantial where the
etymotics is minimal but you need to be comfortable
with an ear canal ear piece. The earphone quality on
both is very good (excellent on the etymotics) and the
mic quality on both is outstanding.

Why spend any more, when the HBH-30 sound quality (both directions) is
excellent?

The 'kind of problem' is that it's been discontinued.
