I am planning to get my wife the new e815 through Verizon next month when
her New-Every-Two option comes up.
My question is about the digital camera and the memory card option that I
see the e815 has. Is there a way to capture pictures and save them to the
memory card and then download them later directly to my PC?
As I understand it, the only way to get pictures from the phone to your PC
is to pay Verizon's picture service fees and send them over the network.
Neither of us have any interest in sending photos to another phone (nor do
we know anybody who even has/needs/wants this.)
Is it possible to get pictures from the phone to the PC through any other
means (including a data cable)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You use a transflash card. Transflash cards come with a mini-SD adapter,
for which in turn there are standard USB adapters. You insert the TF
card into the adapter, and the files on the card are magically available
in the Windows explorer as some "drive", from where you can drag and
drop the files to or from the TF card in the usual way, and then put the
TF card back in the phone. No USB drivers or other software is needed
beyond what Windows/XP has built in, and no alterations to the phone are
necessary. To this point, VZW has not managed to disable this
functionality, but I am sure they are working on it. The TF card and the
mini-SD/USB adapter are stock items available at your favorite computer
supply store/website.

Very interesting. Thanks a lot for the info. I was told by the guy at the
Verizon store that I could not do that - but my guess is that he is not
really knowledgeable on the subject, or they just told him to say this.
Just curious: Have you actually tried this with a VZW/Moto e815?
I will pick up on of these TF cards. It is worth a try!
Thanks again, Keith

I've done it on my V710, and the guys over in the Verizon Wireless forum
on www.HowardForums.com say that it still works on the 815. The only
thing you cannot do without patching the phone configuration is to move
audio files from the TF to the phone memory, where they can be used as
ringtones, but there is a workaround for that.
