I am thinking of switching from Cingular to Verizon. I would have to give
up my V3 Razr if I do. I saw the V710 on Verizon's site. Would this be the
closest I could get? Can anyone offer a comparison of the two? If
possible, any personal experiences would help.

    Thanks in advance... Fred

Apples and oranges. Verizon disables Bluetooth except for headset
functionality. Photo, etc., file exchange requires using Verizon's
    (fee-based) network.

I was a Verizon customer and switched to Cingular specifically for the
V3 (I got really sick of having crappy phones). I would NEVER go back to
Verizon, even though the call quality is somewhat better overall. (There
are more "hiccups" on Cingular but I haven't had a problem with dropped
    calls or coverage).

I think that I read the other day that Verizon will be picking up the RAZR
as part of it's line-up sometime around the Christmas holidays. It wants to
get back in the market and compete with Cingular, and all of the customers
that it has been losing because of the V3. Maybe this will answer both
    problems for you.

Hmmm, nothing on Moto's website to indicate that a CDMA version is being
offered. The existing GSM version of course, won't work on VZW's CDMA
    network.

Thanks for the URLs. Looks like VZW will have a winner. My partner will
be quite happy as he's a very loyal VZW customer.

The closest you can come is the E-815. I have one and work with guys
that have Razrs. They LOVE the voice recognition on my phone. Yes,
the BT is only useful for headsets and synching with MPT on your
computer, file transfers are not important to me because it's a PHONE,
not a CAMERA or MP3 player. I think the E-815 looks more professional
than the 710, call quality is good and ability to pull a signal is
good. I have no battery life issues either.

I think the E815 would be the the right choice. And you don't have to
switch to Cingular to get all the BT functions to work on the 815 by
getting a data cable and viewing tutorials such as these:
