I am trying to get http://www.bvrp.com , mobile phone tool software
for my motorola v600 to run with Blue soleil blue tooth dongle , but
it won't recognise. I've installed and tried the widcomm 1.4.2 build
bluetooth software (as suggested by motorola) but that doesn't detect
the dongle either.
Blue soleils' services file transfer - works ok (limited access)
the DUN/object push is available (but not required) with the phone .
What is not available is the synchronisation service which is what i
really need.
Any ideas ?? apart from baseball bat to the HD which is about where
i'm at ......
My OS: xp pro sp1
thanks in advance

I saw some entries in the BVRP.com FAQ forum about the Soleil dongle. I
think the solution was that BVRP only operates on comm ports 1-0, and
Soleil like above 10 as a default.
I don't have a Soleil, so I didn't pay close attention to the postings.

Making the Widcomm driver work with a Blue Soleil dongle isn't as easy
as just loading the driver but it can be done without difficulty. I've
posted a detailed tutorial on exactly this topic at:

I have also bought one of these 2 days ago and I have been unable to make it
work with Mobile Phone tools and my V600. However, it works perfectly with
my daughter's Samsung e720 with the Blue Soleil software and also the
Samsung software, so I know that the dongle is working OK, it just will not
work correctly with my Motorola. I can send pictures to my computer from the
V600 using the Blue Sloeil software but this is intermittent. The only
difference between the Moto and the Samsung services in Blue Soleil is that
the Samsung has a Bluetooth Serial Port service so I am assuming that the
problem lies with this.
I'm sorry that this does not help you with the problem, but at least now you
know that you are not alone with the problem.

The Samsung is working perfectly with the bluetooth dongle and both the
Bluesoleil and Samsung software. I've decided to give up trying to make the
Mobile Phone Tools work with bluetooth on the Motorola and I will stick to
using my USB cable as this works OK. I can use Bluesoleil to transfer files
to and from the Motorola but no matter what I try the bluetooth will not
work with MPT.

Bruce,
Many thanks for the info. I ran into this thread just before
receiving a Tanlang Bluetooth adapter. After following your
instructions (and after removing the battery for ~30 secs), MPT works
flawlessly with my V551.
