Im considering the V710 to purchase but the sales person is unsure of a
query so im hoping to find an answer here.

A specific feature im looking for in a phone is the ability to load my own
sounds for ring tones. Preferably right off my PC. The V710 has a flash card
that can possibly load it in. But I dont know if the phone is enabled to do
    that.

I have specific, custom sounds that are currently in mp3 format on my
computer that I wish to use. I am not interested in the "wide selection that
telus can offer" or whatever stuff they have. ..There is no chance they have
my media or any "alternative or similar" that they tried to pawn off on me.

Any information to if I can download my specific mp3's (or convert them to
another format) to the V710 and set them as ring tones would be
appreciated. ( Or if not then what other phone(s) may be able to )

    Thank you

Do a search of forums for the v710 and you will find out everything.
Yes you can transferr mp3 from the card to the phone and use as a
ringtone. You may have to reflash the software but there are many
    resourses that can help.

It all depends on the carrier. My v710 came from Verizon, so the
answer is "no", you can't upload ringtones to your phone, at least,
not without some difficulty (i.e., the phone must be hacked and a seem
edit done to enable many of the functions the phone is supposed to
have) I don't know anything about Telus, but my guess is, if they are
trying to sell you a "wide selection" of ringtones, they have disabled
the transfer capability of the phone in order to get you to buy. Check
    with them first.
Ya know, if I had it to do over again, I'd have gotten a different
phone than the v710. I got it primarily for the Bluetooth function,
but the camera sucks, and there're a lot of other things the phone
    doesn't do well, IMO.

Even with Verizon it is possible without hacks.... I used the same process for my 815 and hubby's 710. Your file must be under 200kb
