Annoying BEEP on V3

On my v3, after a 'missed call', my phone gives off beeps about every
30 seconds or so. I assume this is a 'feature' to alert you to a
missed call, but I don't want it. I can't find a way to turn it off.
Does anyone know how to supress those beeps?
On my service I do not have call display and wonder if I did have it
would stop the beeps?.. nah.. probably not. Must be some setting in
the phone that in un-intuitive.
Any help appreciated.
