That's exactly what I did. Uninstalled everything, cleaned up the
registry, reinstalled 3.11h "unlocked" and stood there. :-)
I may report the "bug" to Motorola, but I fear that they'll reply
it's not a bug but a "feature" and they wanted the new version
to look like the "lite" one so users are not lost with a new
graphical user interface.
The nag screens thought are not a "feature"!!!

I've noticed... I've should have posted them on my web site. :-(

I wonder if installing over the 'Lite' version had a bearing? My
'Deluxe' was v3.11h (I've just checked the archived copy to make sure)
and v3.11h 'Lite' came with the phone. However I uninstalled it before
installing the fully functional version of the program.

Re: Updating phonetools 3.11h to 3.25b
Alan,
BVRP contacted me and sent me the 3.25b version and I
did proceed to a fresh install. It didn't help.
I sent them screenshots of the SMS window from
3.11 (the one I like) and from 3.25, which has no
options whatsoever. I'm awaiting an answer.
As I told them, maybe they redesigned the graphical user
interface to look like the lite version so the user won't
be lost with new buttons, etc. I don't know.
I keep 3.11h and don't upgrade it as this is the one
I prefer.
Sincerely,
Steve JORDI

FYI, that's not the case -- 3.28 (the latest version) definitely has an SMS
window.

What I meant is the full sms window with the scheduling options from
3.11h, phone book buttons, etc. Not the one with the simple text
message and the line for the phone. That simple window has a blue
background.

I started with 3.11, and now am up to 3.28. Frankly, I can't see any
difference in the graphics. Looks exactly the same to me.

As in
<http://www.bvrp.com/eng/products/mobilephonetools/Captures/images/025.jpg>
From a quick look at <http://www.bvrp.com/eng/products/mobilephonetools/>,
that seems to be pretty much the only difference, and not one that I would
care much about -- am I missing something else?

Dick, they do look pretty different to me.
Check them on
www.sjordi.com/temp/311.gif for the 3.11h version
www.sjordi.com/temp/325.gif for the updated version!
325 is the same window as in the lite version that comes with the
phone.
Once 3.11h is upgraded (bougght, called the "Deluxe" edition)
it comes with all the options!
I'm not talking about the software version that is brought on
the CD-Rom with the phone, I'm talking about the upgraded version
that costs $29.95 more. It unlocks everything, turns it into 3.11h.
Once unlocked, upgrading it to 3.25 or 3.28 using liveupdate turns
it back to the lite version.
Sincerely,
Steve JORDI

Yes, see what I just posted to Dick.
www.sjordi.com/temp/311.gif
and
www.sjordi.com/temp/325.gif
Pretty different.
3.11 is what I gained by unlocking the soft.
3.25 is a step backward.

As compared to
<http://www.bvrp.com/eng/products/mobilephonetools/Captures/images/025.jpg>,
looks like your 3.11 is better only in scheduling, but lacks the formatting.

Yes, but formatting doesn't work for SMS anyway.
But still the windows are totally different. And I don't want the
"Learn more" side popup panels appearing again to ask me to upgrade
to the Deluxe version in other windows (like the phone book one).
I did upgrade to the Deluxe version to get rid off those!
And anyway, the picture you make me point to never appeared in any
versions I got. I never had any formatting options! So the one on
BVRP's site is not the 325.gif I have (though this may be related
to the phone itself).
It seems totally inconsistent between versions.
311.gif has nothing to do with 325.gif!
Anyway, I'll stick to 3.11h
Thanks all for your contributions.
Sincerely,
Steve JORDI

Is scheduling really something you care about?

I personally prefer the cleaner look.

I'm not seeing that.

Re: Updating phonetools 3.11h to 3.25b
OK Steve. Now I understand what you are talking about. Yes, I have
the "old" screen for text messages. I had never looked at that as I
couldn't imagine why someone would send a cel phone text message with
a computer when you can just send an e-mail. So it wouldn't bother me
if that "feature" wasn't even included with MPT. I only use it for
uploading/downloading files between the phone and computer.
