help? Motorola phone tool music editor

I'm trying to load mp3's into my V180 for use as ringtones. I keep getting "file too large" error messages. How do I use the editor portion of the Phone Tool to re-size the mp3? Must I make it a certain minimum size and must I also make it a cerain kbp/s size? How do I do that? Thanks for any help!

Limit a ringtone to about 30 seconds.
