v3 no backlit keypad

I have a silver v3, the keypad doesnt light up, but my wife has the black
one and that does light up. Do I have to change something in the settings to
get the pad to light up?

Try Settings > Initial Setup > Battery Save and make sure that it is
OFF. Just a guess, but a similar thing happened to me, too.

Also confirm that it is not in a brightly lit area, as I'm pretty sure the
keypad backlight is light sensor activated.

I have a silver V3 (3 weeks old) that does not have a backlight probelm
for the keypad. Just simply opening the phone turns the backlight on and
under Initial Setup I don't have an option called Battery Save but I do
have one for the backlight and the default is 40 seconds and the lowest
is 20 seconds so unless your phone is somehow different than mine you
have something wrong with it as mine is working just fine.

If it helps any my SW version is R374_G_0E.40.9CR

I have the same problem as you. No keypad Lights.
Did you manage to find out the problem and solve it ?
