No keypad lights on V3

I have a V3 bought in Uk last month and
it seems there's a problem with the kepad
lighting. The phone works fine (had better phones the past though)
but the keypad doesn't light up. Anyone had this kind of problem??
What could it be ?... can it be solved ?? please don't tell me I have to
bring it
to tech assistance, because the warranty isn't valid here in Italy.
Suggestions ??

Try it in a dark room. If it still won't work be sure you've got it
turned n in the settings menu.

Oh, I forgot to mention... turn off the Batery Save feature if it's on.
There is also a SEEM edit if it's been disabled at the factory.

There are no battery saving functions on the phone
and I obviously tried it in the dark..... How can I upload the SEEM file
or find a utility to setup hidden features. Thanks
