    Hello,

i've flashed my razr v3 black with new firmware
    (R374_G_0E.42.0ER_PDS005_LP0039_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0E_V3_01_0AR_SE8617MXXF1126_1FF)
and looked through the seem-entries with "Triplet Tool Compilation".

On Seem 0032, offset 1D, bit 0 there's an option to always-enable the
    background-light of the external display.

Has anyone played with this before? How extreme is the accu-time
affected? Does the hardware suffer when the light is always on?

I'm wondering how the backlight works. Is it like a miniature
"fluorescent tube", like in big TFTs or a white LED with some diffusor?
Or some other technology? This would help to answer the question about
    hardware-suffering.

    TIA,

    Gregor

accu-time? as in time auto update? Since the auto update is carrier specific, I don't see how your external display being lit or not would affect it! lol unless you consider being able to see the time quicker, since the light is always on, an affect? In fact the only thing it will affect is the one thing you didn't ask about, your battery. No it won't affect the hardware, unless maybe it's the last phone you will ever get! I assume by hardware you mean the display its self? No it's not like a miniature fluorescent tube! lmao It's more like a cell phone with the outer display lit all the time. There is a flashlight mod if for some reason you don't have a real one or a lighter! lol I have event lights enabled on mine so the external display stays lit until I clear any notifications. Don't really see any use in having it on all the time, all you have to do is press one of the volume keys on the flip to turn it on. I value my battery life too much.

Sounds nice to me! That's in fact what I want. Where can I activate this?

    Know how to seem edit?

    http://xlr8.us/hofo/

    http://xlr8.us/hofo/map.txt

    SEEM 0032_0001

    bits: 00000000 <-- binary
    76543210 <-- bit #

    **all offsets are HEX**

    offset 37 - bit 2: Settings > Initial Setup > Status Light (1 on, 0 off)

if not, come one over to www.motox.info there are plenty of guides
