Got my v3i late yesterday and it's definitely more fun than Xmas
morning! I just finished installing RSD 2.3 which gave me the drivers
to use P2KMan and Motokit 1.06. I made a couple of dozen SEEMs edits to
make it work the way I want it to as well as changes to the gains table.
The MP3 Player is excellent as are the earbuds they provided.
There's been some talk about using iTunes vs. Motorola's DAP. I just
created a playlist in Sounds and use that rather than tie up the phone
with a Java App.

I have another question for you. I have tried to turn up the handset volume
on my V3 using P2K_Man and Motorola-tool, I can turn up the earpiece volume
ok. But when I do, it turns down the transmitter modulation, so low the
other person can barely hear me.

I've tried this twice on two different V3s with the same results. If you can
help it would be greatly appreciated because I have a hearing problem and
can't hear the normal volume settings in a noisy enviornment.

Glad to help just a little bit and thanks for all your contributions.
It took me forever to find something that I could do to increase the volume
on both the mic and ear piece on my HS850 &V3 combo. Also the courage to
mess with a new phone. Worked out just fine and now the volume is great on
both ends.

All the v series use pretty much the same SEEMS so it should work for
you. Always backup your working file though!

I believe they are different settings. One for mic and one for headset
speaker volume and should (read disclaimer work on the V551. These are
the settings I used:

Yes it worked on the V551, the setting for the mic gain of 15 was too high,
sounded distorted. I reset it to 12 and it sounds great now.

Glad it worked out for you. After returning my first HS850 because of sound
levels, I started an exhaustive search for a solution as the second headset
did the same thing. Found out it was not the headset at all, but the phone
settings. Also, I found if you remove the little rubber ring from the ear
piece, it does not flop around as much.
