I have two StarTac 7868Ws, one that's broken but still readable by computer,
and another one that's fine to replace it. I need to give the replacement
phone the old one's ESN so it works on Verizon (since they won't activate non
E-911 phones anymore).
I have a supposed mapper to generate a new file from a given ESN, but it
generates bogus files with bad checksums.
If I could just copy the entire image of the old phone and flash it to the
new one, that would be FINE. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!

This is exactly what the manufacturers have tried hard to prevent, and you
are lucky they are. If the process you are seeking were possible, crooks
would be changing ESN's all over the place and ripping off legitimate
customers. Don't count on achieving this goal.
