I was wondering if anyone knows what the usual turnaround time is for phones
sent in for warranty repairs. In my case, Moto tech support just had me
send my month-old V635 to Indiana because using the menu's shortcut feature
caused the keys to lock up. The only key that would revive the phone after
pushing Shortcuts was the End Call key The other keys were frozen.. After
having me do some troubleshooting (i.e., resetting the phone, removing and
replacing the battery, etc.) tech support concluded that the phone's
software is hopelessly fouled and so I'd have to send it in. So I fedexed
the phone to Bloomington and it arrived at the service center yesterday.
Moto's online repair tracking doesn't yet recognize my IMEI suggesting they
haven't even checked it in yet. If anybody knows how much time (more or
less) I'm looking at before I see the phone again, it would help my
planning?
Thanks in advance to all.

Last time I sent in a phone, it took about three weeks.

They must have changed the repair depot location, because the last time
I sent a phone in it was to National Service Center, 5555 N. Beach St.
Door 40, Fort Worth Texas 71637. It took 22 days for them to flash the
latest firmware, and send it back.

FYI, Motorola now contracts out warranty repairs to PTS Electronics of
Bloomington, Indiana. I can only imagine that with three week turnaround,
Moto was getting a lot of customer complaints. Maybe that's why they turned
their warranty servicing over to PTS. I can only hope...

That's the least amount of time it takes, if they don't lose it.Been there
done that!
